నాటో దేశాలకు రెండు బకరాలు దొరికాయి… ఉక్రెయిన్‌ను ఎగదోశాయి… యుద్ధం సాగుతోంది… వాడూ గెలవడు, వీడూ గెలవడు… కొరియా, ఇండియాల నుంచే కాదు, ఎక్కడెక్కడి నుంచో రష్యా బలగాల్లో చేరి పోరాడుతూ ప్రాణాలు తీసుకుంటుంటారు…

బైడెన్ పోయాడు, ట్రంప్ వచ్చాడు… రష్యా పుతిన్‌తో గంటన్నరసేపు మాట్లాడాడు… అమెరికన్ల కోణంలోనే ఆలోచిస్తున్నాడు ట్రంప్… ఉక్రెయిన్‌కు సాయం చేస్తూ, రష్యాతో పరోక్ష యుద్ధం చేయడం వల్ల మాకేం లాభం అనేదే ఆలోచన… అక్కరకురాని, ఆర్థికభారపు యుద్ధం నాన్సెన్స్ అనుకుని నేరుగా పుతిన్‌కే ఫోన్ చేశాడు…
ఛస్, నాటోలో నీకు సభ్యత్వం ఇవ్వడం కష్టమోయి అనేశాడు ఉక్రెయిన్ జెలెన్‌స్కీతో… అంతేనా..? రష్యా స్వాధీనం చేసుకున్న ప్రాంతాలూ మళ్లీ నీకు రావు అని చావుకబురు చెప్పాడు… ఇక ఉక్రెయిన్‌కు యుద్ధసాయం ఉండనట్టే… ఎప్పుడైతే ఉక్రెయిన్‌కు నాటోలో సభ్యత్వం ఉండదు అని తేలిపోతున్నదో ఇక రష్యాకూ యుద్ధం చేసే అవసరమూ లేదు…
కానీ ఈ మూడేళ్లలో ఏం జరిగింది..? ఉక్రెయిన్ చావుదెబ్బ తిన్నది… బయటికి చెప్పకపోయినా రష్యా ఆర్థికంగా దెబ్బతిన్నది… స్థూలంగా చూస్తే జెలెన్‌స్కీ తప్పే కనిపిస్తుంది… మూర్ఖపాలకుడు… అమెరికా, ఇతర నాటో దేశాల్ని నమ్మి రష్యాతో గోక్కున్నాడు… జరిగే నష్టం మీద సోయి లేదు… రష్యాను ఎలాగూ గెలవలేడు… రష్యా యుద్ధం కొనసాగిస్తూనే ఉండగలదు… మరి అంతిమంగా ఎవరు నష్టపోయేది..? తమ దేశమే…
పోనీ, నాటో సభ్యత్వంతో ఆ దేశాలు మరీ ఉక్రెయిన్‌ను ఉద్దరించేదీ ఏమీ ఉండదు… సో, ఏతావాతా తేలేది ఏమిటంటే..? అమెరికా ప్లస్ దాని మిత్రదేశాల్ని గుడ్డిగా నమ్మితే చివరకు మిగిలేది అదుగో ఆ ఉక్రెయిన్ వంటి విధ్వంసమే… ప్రపంచంలో అమెరికాతో దోస్తీకి వెంపర్లాడే ప్రతి దేశానికీ ఉక్రెయిన్ ఓ పెద్ద గుణపాఠం..! అఫ్‌కోర్స్, ఇండియాకు కూడా..! ఇప్పటివరకూ జాగ్రత్తగానే ఉంటోంది మన విదేశాంగ విధానం… కొనసాగాలి..!

Ukraine had lost more than one lac soldiers , nearly a crore of citizens died or wounded , 25% of population was dislocated and humongous loss of property that was beyond redemption. It was estimated that it would take decades and hundreds of billions of dollars , just to return to pre war days . And it had lost big chunks of land to Russia , which it would never recover . What did he achieve after all this ?
And all this for just a membership in NATO . The tragedy is even that is going to be denied under Trump .
A leader with foresight , pragmatism and love for his people should assess his and enemy’s strengths and weaknesses, friends and foes , the horrible consequences if he provokes that mighty enemy and should calibrate his response including tactical retreat , if it serves the larger interests of his people .
Patriotism doesn’t mean the blind aggression, to play to the gallery , to become a romantic hero at the cost of his nation and people. It’s an abominable crime against his own people. History wouldn’t judge him kindly for this reckless adventure.
It’s sad that , that silly comedian never realised Davids don’t win real wars except in fairy tales .
